Ten friends and I met in Round Top, Tx (Population 77) for a scarpbooking/sewing retreat. Nearly all of them are young enough to be my daughters. What a hard working bunch of girls. Really, your husbands, who so willingly stayed home with the kids, need to know that you stopped for nothing. Well, nothing but to eat and sleep. I am a witness to how diligently you cut, pasted, organized and created page after page of wonderful memories for your families. We ooooed and aaaahed over the cutest pictures. I was the odd man out – the only one who brought sewing projects to work on. Not because I don’t have any photos to scrapbook. But, because I have 35years of unorganized, unscrapbooked photos to work on. It will take much more than a 2 day retreat to whip that project into shape. Not only did we scrapbook and sew, we talked and laughed and listened to music. After listening to Tim McGraw I decided that I liked him – I mean I like his music. And the one married to Nicole Kidman – I liked him too. I fell in love with Il Divo – no really – I am in love with them – all of them. It just makes me happy to hear them even when they are singing in Italian – especially when they are singing in Italian. I wasn’t aquainted with Journey – and I have to say I was happy when the Journey was over.

hey, i know those ladies! :) sounds like fun, i would have been sewing, too, joyce! i'm not a scrapbooker, but that trip did sound fun!
Wow mom! Looks like so much fun! Look at what you accomplished!
Those Swaddle blankets are the best! I still use it with Abigail even though she is getting bigger. Her legs just stick out but she loves it! Thank you so much for giving them to us. I think of you every time I use them, which is several times a day with nap times and such!! Hope all is well! Love you xxx Nancy
What a fun retreat! Nice work! I'll have to check out some of your new music suggestions on Pandora!
Okay...I'm falling in love too...I've been listening to the Il Divo radio station on Pandora all morning. Love it! I'd never heard of him/them? (Is it a group or a person?)
Wow, what are you going to DO with all those one-of-a-kind old fashioned made-with-love goods? Maybe you should come back to Omaha and teach me ALL you know. I just made Emily's costume, and usually the sewing machine and I end up in a fight. But this time wasn't TOO bad. I think I might make even some more capes (Emily is Little Red Riding Hood) because Mason felt like a superhero when he tried it on. Anyway, good job on all you accomplished (and thanks for sharing your favorite music too!).
fun!! I saw the invitation from Kahna but I don't scrapbook at all. I don't have a creative bone in my body ... now cooking? I'm there. :-)
nice projects!!! I used to sew when the kids were little ... I could whip something up with just a little bit of material.
Just read that yesterday would have been Veldon's 57th birthday ... Truly a great man!
I tried to get in on that weekend too, but I just couldn't pull it off at home. Too bad! Glad you had fun!
I think I commented in an e-mail instead of on your blog. The group looks fun, and I love all the lovely things you can do with your sewing machine.
Love, Sheriee
WOW!! Good job-- I can't wait to learn how to sew:) I finally think it is "cool":)
